The proliferation of farmers’ markets in our region reflects a growing desire on the part of consumers to know where their food — and handcrafted goods — are coming from. In fact, a recent study conducted by University of Connecticut found that 60 percent of Connecticut consumers were willing to pay a premium for products labeled Connecticut grown.
